Well, today was the first day of music class. I don't know if other people will agree, but I was hesitant about starting this class....for a few different reasons:
1) I loved our Drama teacher and our class. It was so helpful for our own teaching blocks and very "hands on".
2) I am not musically inclined. I have no "hear" for sound and I have a very difficult time understanding the elements and techniques of music.
Despite my initial hesitation, the first class went relatively well. I loved the songs we sang and the overall structure of the course. The instructor went over the basics of music very slowly and carefully which was great for someone like me who has NO IDEA what they're doing. The final project seems like it will be a lot of work...but at least it will be helpful to use in a music class that we may be teaching in the future!
So, as the course continues, I hope it will stay at a very basic level so that I am not "in over my head". I'm sure I'll be alright, I hope at least!!

Ms.P,
So I had my first drama class today- I'm not sure if we have the same teacher as you (Suzanne?) but it was the GREATEST class I think I have been to in a long time. 2 1/2 hours were up in no time, and I already have learned tons of great techniques to use in my own classroom. My drama class has people from our counselling group and 2 others, so I wasnt sure how comfortable we all would be getting into character and "letting loose"- I have NO idea why I was even worried because we ALL came out of our shells and just let it all out- perhaps us future teachers just need to scream out/act out our frustrations? Whatever it was, it was GREAT, and it made us all feel SO much more comfortable with one another. I can't wait for more drama classes, and I hope music will be as fun as well!
