Andrew Lanis Fundraiser

Tonight, Sunday, November 4th at St. Alexander's, there was a huge fundraiser to raise money for Andrew, a young student at St. Alexander's, who has Hunter's Syndrome. This is a degenerative disease which requires $500,000.00 in medical costs each year. Needless to say, help from the community would be much appreciated by theLanis family.

There was a great turnout at the school with hundreds of raffle items that were donated and lots of food and activities for families to take part in. Along with two other student teachers, I was in the face painting room for five hours straight ATTEMPTING to draw pictures on kids faces. It was a really fun day, tiring, but totally worth it.

The Lanis family must be so happy and thankful for all of the support given by the school and by the community. It was so neat to see everyone come together for a great cause and do something really great with their day. It was a successful event and I was happy to be a part of it!

It's sounds really cliche, but it would do SUCH good if we all took part in small, yet life changing events to help make the lives of others a little bit easier....KARMA!!!
